Maureen FitzSimons's early accomplishments in the performing arts, that we now know by the name of Maureen O'Hara, would certainly be a qualifier to her place in the "child prodigy" category. This was a very natural trait for a girl from Irish heritage, that was surrounded during the beginning by gifted family members and parents. Maureen arrived in this nurturing haven, August 17, 1920. Charles FitzSimons was a successful businessman in Dublin who also owned a part of the Irish Shamrock Rovers, a soccer club in Ireland. Maureen FitzSimons' first FitzSimons children. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara made up this family. Maureen was a natural athlete and was a fan of tough sports. Her passion was coupled with an unnatural talent for performing. This was demonstrated by her winning pretty much every Feis award for drama or the stage that her country had to offer. She was accepted at the Abbey Theater by age 14 She then continued to pursue her dream of opera and classical singing and theater.
