Demetria Devonne "Demi" Lovato was born on 20th August 1993 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Dianna De La Garza, a ex- Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, and Patrick Martin Lovato, an musician and engineer, who was brought up in Dallas, Texas. Demi was an actor for children on the show "Barney & Friends'. They were able to get a part on a short Disney Channel show called 'As the Bell Rings, in which they were then offered the starring role of the film Camp Rock. Demi Lovato wrote three songs for Camp Rock's soundtrack while filming the movie. The singer has released a number of singles in the years since.
